Celebrating a decade of deadly rock – ten years of Deathstars. Now you’ve got the chance to be a part of the band
Yes, for ten years Deathstars have been given birth to a constantly growing and simply amazing hardcore following of die hard-fans - which few bands can even relate to - and now the boys of destruction want to show you all how hard they die for the students of darkness. Therefore, they’ll now give you the chance to write music together with the band.
Now, in year 2010, it’s been ten years of dark explosive depravity. Looking back, it was just minutes before witching hour on new year’s eve 1999 that Nightmare and Whiplasher sat down and decided to start a band which was totally over the top; a band without no barriers - mixing everything from pop to black metal. The idea was to make something unique; a band with no strings attached to any genre; a mix between darkness, sex, power and guitars; a forum where songs were the important thing (and good looks). It was a plan of a sophisticated hall where the songs were the essence – not the obligations to be a part of a scene. They simply wanted to do something that was inspiring, for themselves as well as the crowd. Something new. They decided to call it Deathstars. You might better know it as intercourse. Anyway…
Let’s celebrate ten years of Scandinavian darkness
This is it: The band will release a special edition of Night Electric Night featuring over 60 minutes of unreleased material including songs that didn't make it on the albums, the very first Deathstars demo from 2000 and a fresh batch of unreleased remixes done by some of the coolest people in the scene. This edition reaches out to all the people that have made the band to who they are today. On this unique feature they want your personal interpretations of three chosen songs, and the winners will be presented and released on the jubilée-album. The band give you the oppurtunity to remix Deathstars’ songs!
The hits of choice are one from each album:
1. The New Dead Nation – Synthetic Generation
2. The Last Ammunition – Termination Bliss
3. The Fuel Ignites – Night Electric Night

Oscar back on the throne
Due to continued problems with Bone's arm our trustworthy companion Oscar Leander will continue to be filling in on the drums this spring. Many of you already know Oscar from the Into Darkness tour a few months ago as well as from a dozen shows in 2007. Oscar will be doing all the planned shows until summer including the South American dates, which hopefully will give Bone enough time to recover well.

New venues in South America
There's been some venue changes in Chile and Argentina,
The show in Santiago will now take place at the Teatro Novedades and the show in Buenos Aires will now be at the Teatro Colegiales.
Tickets for all the shows will be available from January 6th and ticket links are available at the live section.

Gemini Five will be the support for the show at Strand, Stockholm
Swedish companions Gemini Five will support Deathstars on the Stockholm show the 29th of October at Strand.
Broken Bone!
Due to a severe case of "tennis elbow" (caused by tennis for sure) Bone is forced to leave the ongoing Into Darkness Festival to give his arm some rest after this years extensive touring. Yesterday in Frankfurt we unfortunately had to shorten the set because of Bone being physically unable to perform any longer. We apologise for the shortened set time but the only other option would have been to cancel the show completely. Still Bone deserves an applause for performing these 45 minutes in severe pain just for all the people who were there.
The tour will however go on, we have flown in our old friend Oscar (Thunder) de la Renta from the band Crescendolls that helped us out at a few shows a couple of years ago. We will spend the whole day rehearsing with Oscar to make sure we can give everybody the best show possible tonight. Bone is sticking around for a few extra days just to make sure that Oskar will deliver the goods to his satisfaction before he will go back to Sweden.

Termination Bliss re-visited
DEATHSTARS dug deep into their closets and found some good old private footage from the Termination Bliss album period. We are very proud to announce that we finally will spread the blood, glitter and darkness of Deathstars in North America.
